My Story

My name is Stacey Gachassin, I am 46-year-old woman from New Iberia, Louisiana. I am a proud mother to an amazing 24-year-old son. I thank God for him every day. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, laughing and joking around. I tend to find humor everywhere I go and never meet a stranger.

A year ago, I had to quit my career as a hairstylist of 18 years. In 2014 I had Breast Augmentation surgery, which I had wanted to do it for years. About a month after my surgery is when my health had started to decline. I was active and didn’t have any real health problems before my surgery.

The problem started with my shoulder waking me up from my sleep it was causing so much pain. Then my hands and feet started swelling and causing more pain. It got to the point my whole body was in severe pain.

I was Diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis. My levels got really high, and I tried different medications for it, but nothing helped. My whole body was in severe pain that wouldn’t go away. Someone had told me about a documentary they had saw about a girl that had been sick and was in a lot of pain. The doctors were puzzled just like mine. Long story short, it was her implants making her sick.

I had never heard of that happening before. That’s when my researching journey began.  I was blown away from what I found.  There are thousands of women that have suffered; some who have even passed away from it.

It causes the body to go through some type of autoimmune and connective tissue disorders, such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis just to name a few. In many, but not all cases, explant surgery to remove the implants and capsule improves or completely resolves the breast implant illness symptoms.

I was very lucky, after two years of excruciating pain, I had the explant surgery. The morning of my explant surgery was the last time I felt that debilitating pain.  My Rheumatoid factor went from 400 back down to 0. I finally feel closer to my old self again.

I still however must deal with the irreversible damage it had done to my body.  Now I must limit myself from doing too much physically because my shoulder sometimes falls out of its socket due from the silicone eating the bone from my shoulder.  I also have problems sleeping and have been taking natural supplements to help with pain when I overdo it and to help me sleep at night.
